Desde hoy, hasta el próximo viernes 25 de febrero, el religioso es juzgado por dos denuncias por delitos sexuales. Citaron a 38 testigos.
En este primer día se realiza la lectura del requerimiento de juicio y el exobispo tendrá la posibilidad de declarar. Está previsto que 15 testigos declaren hoy en la audiencia.
Para el segundo día se prevén otros 15 testimonios y en la tercera jornada unos ocho más.
Zanchetta es investigado hace más de tres años cuando en enero de 2019 el Ministerio Público Fiscal inició de oficio las actuaciones a partir de las denuncias públicas en contra del exobispo de Orán. El 6 de febrero de ese mismo año un integrante de la congregación que dirigía Zanchetta realizó de manera formal la denuncia en la Fiscalía Penal de Violencia Familiar y de Género de Orán, dando cuenta de episodios de contenido sexual sufridos en su perjuicio de parte de Zanchetta. Una semana después, otra persona que también pertenecía a la congregación radicó una denuncia por abuso sexual.
Ya en julio de 2019 la fiscal Penal de Violencia Familiar y de Género de Orán, María Soledad Filtrín Cuezzo, que representa al Ministerio Público Fiscal (MPF) durante el debate, requirió la elevación a juicio contra el religioso, incluyendo los elementos probatorios colectados durante la investigación y los resultados de las pericias psiquiátricas y psicológicas realizadas por profesionales del CIF, con contralor de la profesional aportada por la defensa técnica.
El tribunal de juicio está compuesto por los jueces María Laura Toledo Zamora, Raúl Fernando López y Héctor Fabián Fayos de la Sala II del Tribunal de Juicio de Orán.
Las audiencias se extenderán hasta este viernes 25, jornada en que se podría conocer el veredicto del tribunal.
