Albarracín reconoció Post Mortem al Capitán Gómez Roca
En vísperas de conmemorarse el 40° aniversario de la Guerra de Malvinas, el legislador Raúl Albarracín, y los concejales Gabriel Jiménez y Katherina Mazzucco, dieron un reconocimiento Post Mortem al Capitán de Fragata Sergio Gómez Roca. Recibió la distinción su viuda, Juana Rubí de Gómez Roca.
El encuentro se dio en el Teatro la Estación de la ciudad de Concepción y también estuvieron presentes combatientes y familiares del Capitán de Fragata.
Sergio Gómez Roca fue comandante del aviso ARA “Alférez Sobral”, y la distinción responde a su compromiso, coraje y valores al servicio de la Patria. “Nuestro reconocimiento Post Mortem a un verdadero héroe que entregó su vida en el puente de comando cuando su unidad fue atacada mientras se dirigía a rescatar a dos pilotos de aviones derribados en combate”, explicó el Albarracín.
Desde el escenario y ante un auditorio repleto, Juana Rubí agradeció y manifestó, emocionada, su agradecimiento por este reconocimiento, “estamos acá 40 años después, recordando con los que volvieron vivos que son un ejemplo todo lo que fue”.
“El Capitán Gómez Roca, al igual que otros héroes nacionales, reafirma el coraje y honor de los hombres de mar; demostrando con su actitud de liderazgo, la de aquellos elegidos para defender la Soberanía de la Patria. Este homenaje en el lo extendemos a todos los caídos, a quienes debemos honor y gloria, por tanto amor a la Patria que tuvieron ofrendando lo más valioso que un ser humano tiene, que es la vida misma”, dijo el Legislador en su alocución.
Al finalizar el acto Albarracín sostuvo que, a través del reconocimiento a Gómez Roca, honran a todos los caídos “como ejemplos de coraje, valor y virtud. Pasaron 40 años de desmalvinización, donde se ocultaron a nuestros veteranos de guerra y ellos fueron los protagonistas heroicos de nuestra gesta contemporánea. Sufrieron el olvido y la ingratitud, entonces estos 40 años tienen que ser una fecha propicia para honrar y dar toda la gratitud, porque ellos con arrojo y amor dieron la vida por nuestra patria”, culminó.
