A cuánto quedó River Plate en la tabla histórica de títulos.

El Xeneize pudo tomarse revancha de Tigre en Córdoba y se consagró en la Copa de la Liga.

Boca Juniors venció a Tigre en Córdoba y obtuvo la Copa de la Liga, el primer título del año. El Xeneiza se impuso ante el Matador en el Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes y pudo tomarse revancha de la Copa de la Superliga perdida ante el elenco de Victoria, en este mismo escenario, en 2019.

Se trata del segundo título consecutivo que logra Sebastián Battaglia en los nueve meses que lleva como director técnico del equipo, luego de la Copa Argentina obtenida en diciembre de 2021 ante Talleres de Córdoba por penales, en Santiago del Estero.

El andar del Xeneize en la Copa de la Liga fue de menor a mayor. Tras un arranque irregular, pudo hilvanar una serie de victorias en cadena para terminar segundo en la Zona B, a un punto de Estudiantes de La Plata. En el medio, le ganó el Superclásico a River Plate en el estadio Monumental, en la fecha interzonal de los clásicos.

Ya en la instancia de los cuartos de final, superó en la Bombonera por 2 a 0 a Defensa y Justicia , que había finalizado tercero en la Zona A. En semifinales, el equipo de Battaglia eliminó a Racing Club, que fue el mejor equipo y único invicto de la primera fase del campeonato. Con Agustín Rossi como figura, pasó por penales 6-5 en cancha de Lanús, para disputar la final ante Tigre, que luego de clasificarse tercero en la misma zona que Boca, dio la nota al eliminar a River Plate (2-1) en el Monumental y luego a Argentinos Juniors por penales en cancha de Huracán.

Con esta consagración, Boca Juniors tomó mayor distancia de su acérrimo rival River Plate y se afianzó como el más ganador del país en la tabla histórica de títulos. El Xeneize continúa dominando la general y también es el dueño absoluto en el listado de Copas Nacionales.

Con esta Copa de la Liga, el Xeneize obtuvo su estrella 50 en la tabla de Títulos Locales (donde se cuentan Torneos de Liga y Copas Nacionales), a apenas uno del Millonario que con el último Trofeo de Campeones llegó a los 51. En la parte de Copas locales, el Boca Juniors alcanzó la 16°, superando por dos a River Plate (14) y a tres de Racing Club (13). Los de Núñez continúan tres escalones por encima de los de La Ribera en cuanto a Ligas (37-34), lo que los hace de momento en el máximo ganador de Títulos Locales con uno más que su máximo rival.

En lo que respecta a la tabla general de títulos del fútbol argentino, en la que se suma Títulos de Liga, Copas Nacionales, Copas Internacionales y viejas Copas Rioplatenses, todos logros oficiales y de máxima categoría, el Xeneize se encuentra en el primer escalón con 72, tres más que el Millonario y muy lejos de los otros grandes como Independiente (45), Racing Club (37) y San Lorenzo (22).

Desde el Revisionismo Histórico del Fútbol mantienen actualizados los títulos oficiales de máxima categoría de los clubes más ganadores en cada tipo de competencia (Torneos de Liga, Copas Nacionales y Copas Internacionales), contemplando la era amateur y marcando como punto de comienzo para el recuento el año 1891.

Una aclaración: la Copa de Oro de 1936 conquistada por River está publicada en la web oficial de AFA como Título de Liga. Muchos estadígrafos aseguran que es Copa Nacional. Es un tema de debate entre historiadores aún no definido por “Historia AFA”. En consecuencia, se publica lo que el organismo rector expresa a través de su página oficial, destacaron desde Revisionismo Histórico.

También advirtieron que los datos son referidos siempre a la máxima categoría oficial y no se considera en estas estadísticas a los torneos de ascenso ni a los eventos amistosos.
