Dejó de producir y está a la venta.

La fábrica lleva más de tres meses cerrada y los 120 trabajadores de la planta ubicada en Capitán Bermúdez, Santan Fe, cobraron sólo el 50% de sus salarios.

La ex cerámica Verbano, única fábrica de porcelanas del país con planta en la ciudad santafesina de Capitán Bermúdez, cerró sus puertas y dejó de producir desde que se dispuso el aislamiento social, preventivo y obligatorio el 20 de marzo en el marco de la pandemia por Covid-19.

Desde la marca anunciaron que no seguirán invirtiendo en la línea de producción. Sumado la decisión de la compañía que desde 1995 pertenece a una firma de capitales portugueses, ante la no aparición de inversores que puedan rescatar a la empresa, la cerámica tiene un futuro incierto y desolador.

120 son los trabajadores de la planta que durante estos tres meses de cuarentena sólo percibieron el 50 por ciento de sus salarios, en parte proveniente del programa lanzado por el gobierno nacional de Asistencia de Emergencia al Trabajo y la Producción (ATP) y otra parte que destinó la empresa.

Los operarios de la planta expusieron y difundieron su reclamo en las redes sociales, y la semana pasada se reunieron en las puertas de la compañía para protestar y exigir una respuesta.

«Estamos viendo las alternativas posibles en caso de que la firma sea vendida y qué pasará cuando el gobierno deje de abonar los ATP», comentó al diario local La Capital Carina Mugracci, delegada de fábrica y tesorera del sindicato de Ceramistas, quien agregó que están en una «situación de desamparo desde que comenzó la cuarentena«.

La crisis de la empresa no comenzó con la aparición del coronavirus, sino que se agravó. En marzo del año pasado la cerámica comenzó a atravesar una crisis que llevó a la suspensión de operarios.

Desde 1953, la marca Verbano está instalada como sinónimo de jerarquía, calidad y buen gusto en vajilla de porcelana.

En 1995 el grupo Faiart de Portugal adquirió las instalaciones y la marca de la ex-empresa Porcelanas Verbano e incorporó la tecnología más avanzada para agregar aún más valor a un producto tradicionalmente apreciado.

Los nuevos diseños incorporados y el delicado trabajo de nuestros artesanos comenzaron a escribir una nueva historia.
