¿Cómo puede ser Cuba una potencia médica si no hay agua ni jabón?
En medio de la pandemia del coronavirus, cuya mayor protección es lavarse las manos, 513 mil cubanos no tienen acceso a agua, según el presidente del Instituto Nacional de Recursos Hidraúlico.
Más de medio millón de cubanos no tienen acceso al agua. Durante la pandemia del coronavirus (COVID-19), donde lavarse las manos con agua y jabón es el primer consejo para evitar contagiarse, los cubanos no cuentan con lo fundamental para su supervivencia.
El 21,3 % de La Habana no tiene acceso continuo a agua, 468 721 personas de un total de 2,2 millones de habitantes. 469 mil en todo el occidente cubano están sin agua. Cifras del Instituto Nacional de Recursos Hidráulicos (INRH) afirman que otras 23 000 personas en la zona central del país no tienen este líquido vital ni 21 000 en el oriente, para un total de 513 000 en el país.
Antonio Rodríguez, presidente del INRH reconoció en la televisión cubana el desabastecimiento en la isla. En el programa Mesa Redonda explicó que hay 111 fuentes de suministro de agua afectadas, 89 de forma parcial y otras 22 de forma total. También que solo una de las cinco cuencas que abastecen La Habana están funcionando.
Es decir, pese a la publicidad del Partido Comunista que ha vendido al mundo que Cuba es una potencia médica, la isla no ofrece ni siquiera condiciones sanitarias para sus habitantes, comenzando por el primer procedimiento para evitar el contagio del coronavirus: el lavado de manos. No solo es la falta de agua, sino que el jabón (el segundo elemento primordial para resguardarse del COVID-19) es considerado un objeto de lujo, por tanto escasea.
Así quedó al descubierto cuando un grupo de chilenos no pudo salir del país, debido a que el régimen cerró los aeropuertos de la isla por la pandemia. La actriz y activista chilena Carolina Cox causó revuelo internacional luego de que durante meses se manifestara contra el Gobierno de Sebastián Piñera, al que luego le suplicó ayuda para salir de Cuba, donde le restringían el acceso a Internet, no podía usar tarjetas de crédito, y no había ni siquiera jabón ni medicinas.

Como ella, decenas de extranjeros que defendían el modelo socialista desde la comodidad de países con economías libres, donde con un iPhone y datos móviles exigían destruir el sistema de libre mercado, suplicaban salir de la «utopía» socialista.
Según los testimonios compilados por Radio Martí, como el de la activista María López, hay agua «cada tres, cinco, ocho días, y por eso no tienen condiciones para protegerse del coronavirus o de cualquier otra enfermedad».
Un grupo de mujeres cubanas lo expuso de manera dramática el último fin de semana de abril. Protestaron con baldes vacíos, enfurecidas e indignadas porque no pueden higienizar a sus hijos enfermos.
Manifestaron que se quejaron con organismos del Gobierno, entre ellos el Poder Popular, y ninguno les ha enviado un suministro de agua. Aparecen cubiertas las bocas con mascarillas caseras, arrojando su ropa sin lavar al piso. En plena pandemia, donde quitarse la ropa expuesta al ambiente para lavarla es fundamental, en Cuba no es posible cumplir con normas básicas de higiene.

La escasez de productos refleja la crisis económica
Productos de higiene básica faltan hace meses. Desde diciembre no se encuentran toallas higiénicas en muchas partes de la isla. Lo que muestra es que la situación económica en Cuba está en crisis.
Cuba importa el 82 % de lo que consume. Como el régimen controla la producción en Cuba, sus ciudadanos dependen de las raciones del Estado. Desde que disminuyó el financiamiento que el régimen Castro recibe de Venezuela, luego de que el socialismo hiciera colapsar la economía del país sudamericano, Cuba perdió su capacidad de pago frente a China. Dado el golpe económico que ha recibido el gigante asiático, en consecuencia a ser el lugar de origen de la COVID-19, ya no le exporta a Cuba.
La falta de liquidez en la isla se debe a dos duros golpes principalmente. Por un lado el cierre del turismo de EE. UU., por orden de Donald Trump como represalia a la complicidad de la dictadura cubana con régimen socialista de Nicolás Maduro.
Por otro lado, el Partido Comunista Cubano perdió un promedio de 33 millones de dólares por mes -que recibía a cambio de enviar 11 mil médicos a Brasil- luego de que el presidente Jair Bolsonaro llamara esclavitud a las condiciones laborales de los médicos cubanos, dado que la dictadura de la isla expropiaba entre el 75 y 90 % de los salarios de los médicos y no les permitía viajar con sus familias al país suramericano.
En lugar de mejorar dichas condiciones laborales, el régimen optó por repatriar a los médicos y poner en riesgo su mayor ingreso. Solo en el 2016, los médicos cubanos que trabajan en el extranjero produjeron cinco veces más que la industria del turismo. Los médicos generaron 11 543 millones de dólares anuales, mientras que el turismo 2 800 millones.
En teoría, Cuba es supuestamente un ejemplo en salud. En la práctica no puede ni abastecer los artículos de higiene básicos para sus mujeres, ni brindar condiciones laborales dignas a los trabajadores de la salud.
Hasta el día de hoy, los médicos del mundo hacen un juramento hipocrático en honor a Hipócrates, célebre galeno de la Antigua Grecia que juró en honor a Esculapio y a sus hijos Higía y Panacea. Higía era la diosa de la limpieza y la curación. De su nombre viene la higiene. Su equivalente romano es Salus, de su nombre viene la salud.
