«Es básico, debiera ser lo normal que las personas con causas penales no ocupen cargos públicos. Hay un compromiso del Concejo y de cada uno de los concejales de apoyar esta iniciativa, darle el impulso necesario para que sea ley. Desde nuestro Concejo, vamos a trabajar en la concientización, de la importancia de este proyecto a través de campañas y de emitir instrumentos legales como las resoluciones. Estos proyectos deben ser estimulados, porque promueven el bien común. Todos los concejales nos pusimos a total disposición para que esto se convierta en ley», expresó Jiménez.
Tras la reunión, Canelada agradeció el gesto de los concejales y lo consideró como un envión fundamental para que Ficha Limpia se convierta en ley.
«La política no puede ser más la cueva de Alí Babá. El ejemplo debe empezar dándolo la política, y por supuesto que Ficha Limpia debe ser algo que se extienda a todos los poderes del Estado. Y también como sociedad, a través de nuestras decisiones, de nuestros reclamos, de nuestras peleas, debemos excluir de los lugares de importancia y los lugares de toma de decisiones a los delincuentes. Inicialmente, la política debe dar el ejemplo y luego se debe extender a todo los ámbitos de la vida en sociedad», expresó.
De la reunión también participaron los concejales Ramiro Beti, Raquel Nievas, Eduardo Carrizo, Gladys Costa y Silvia Romero.
