Deforestación hallan un oso hormiguero bebe
Fue en una ruta de la provincia de Salta.
Salteños que manejaban por la Ruta Provincial Nº 86 se toparon con una cría de oso hormiguero y lo rescataron. Publicaron las fotos en Facebook junto a un mensaje para generar conciencia sobre la necesidad de conservación de esta especie.
Recientemente, el alarmante avance de la deforestación en el Gran Chaco argentino llamó la atención del Observatorio de la Tierra de la NASA, que publicó como su “imagen del día” una comparación de registros satelitales del degradado de los bosques en Salta durante los últimos 20 años.
La distribución actual del oso hormiguero (Myrmecophaga tridactyla) en nuestro país se halla en las provincias de Chaco, Formosa, Jujuy, Misiones, Salta, Santiago del Estero y Tucumán. La especie se encuentra amenazada principalmente por la destrucción de su hábitat y en menor medida por la caza.
“Hoy familiares de una compañera encontraron una cría de oso hormiguero solo y sin su madre al costado de la Ruta 86, es lamentable lo que le estamos haciendo a especies nativas de nuestro Chaco Salteño con tanto desmonte; y cacería furtiva, estamos aniquilado su medio ambiente poniendo muchas especies al borde de la extinción. Es hora de empezar a tomar conciencia”, expresaron en redes sociales quienes hallaron un ejemplar en la Ruta Provincial Nº 86.
El avance de la deforestación en el norte de nuestro país es denunciado constantemente por la organización ambientalista Greenpeace, que a comienzos de 2020 difundió su informe anual de deforestación en esa zona del país, el cual revela que durante 2019 se perdieron 80.938 hectáreas de bosques en las cuatro provincias con más desmontes del país: Chaco, Santiago del Estero, Formosa y Salta.
