Designaron a Juan Grabois como miembro del «ministerio social y ambiental» del Vaticano
El dirigente social Juan Grabois fue designado miembro del Dicasterio para el Servicio del Desarrollo Humano Integral del Vaticano, considerado el «ministerio social y ambiental» de la Santa Sede bajo el que se nuclean los programas de aplicación de la encíclica Laudato si’ y la comisión para la pospandemia.
Grabois, de 37 años, fue propuesto como miembro consultor por el titular del Dicasterio, el cardenal ghanés Peter Turkson, informaron fuentes vaticanas a Télam.
La designación del abogado y dirigente de los movimientos sociales fue luego respaldada, días atrás, por el papa Francisco.
Otros miembros del Dicasterio creado por el Papa en 2016 son, por ejemplo, los cardenales de Polonia Konrad Krajewski y de Perú, Pedro Barreto, entre los religiosos, y los laicos Renato Lima de Oliveira y Sean Callahan.
Bajo la órbita del Dicasterio trabajan las fundaciones de orientación social del Vaticano, como la Popolorum Progressio, enfocado en América Latina; y la Juan Pablo II, en el Sahel.
Turkson ya había designado a Grabois como consultor del Pontificio Consejo de Justicia y Paz, una de las instituciones que, con la firma del decreto papal de agosto de 2016, derivaron desde el 1 de enero de 2017 en el Dicasterio para el Servicio del Desarrollo Humano Integral.
El Papa consideró entonces que el Dicasterio «será competente en las cuestiones que se refieren a las migraciones, los necesitados, los enfermos y los excluidos, los marginados y las víctimas de los conflictos armados y de las catástrofes naturales, los encarcelados, los desempleados y las víctimas de cualquier forma de esclavitud y de tortura».
En 2020, Francisco instituyó, bajo la órbita del Dicasterio, la comisión vaticana Covid-19, que se encarga de centralizar los programas de la Santa Sede para la denominada pospandemia en temas sociales, ambientales y económicos.
