Día del Amigo, una celebración impulsada por un argentino
Cuando el odontólogo argentino Enrique Febbraro vio el llegada del primer astronauta a la Luna, el 20 de julio de 1969, pensó que había llegado el momento de festejar la posibilidad de vivir «un mundo sin fronteras» y propuso la fecha para exaltar la amistad.
La celebración del Día del Amigo en Argentina y una veintena de países latinoamericanos fue impulsada por el odontólogo argentino Enrique Febbraro, quien se inspiró en la llegada del hombre a la Luna el 20 de julio de 1969.
Febbraro advirtió que había un mundo sin fronteras en la fraternidad entre los hombres con el alunizaje y se conmovió cuando el astronauta Neil Armstrong apoyó su pie izquierdo para descender a terreno lunar y pronunció su célebre frase: ‘Un pequeño paso para el hombre, pero un gran salto para la humanidad'», lo cual fue televisado a todo el mundo.
Antes de que la nave Apolo 11 emprendiera su viaje de regreso, Febbraro envió unas mil cartas manuscritas a 100 países desde su casa en la localidad bonaerense de Lomas de Zamora.
Rápidamente obtuvo 700 respuestas y observó que así había nacido el «Día del Amigo», cuyo lema fue a partir de ese momento «Un pueblo de amigos es una Nación imbatible».
La dictadura cívico militar autorizó la celebración en 1979 y luego se sumaron entidades públicas y privadas de Argentina y naciones de América Latina.
Febbraro, quien fue candidato dos veces al premio Nobel de la Paz, falleció en noviembre del 2008 tras ejercer la odontología y además como profesor de psicología, filosofía e historia, al tiempo que fue cultor de la música.
En la región, adhirieron a la celebración impulsada por Febbraro Brasil, Uruguay y Chile, y en otros continentes España.
En el plano histórico, aparecen, entre otras, las amistades de Fidel Castro y Ernesto «Che» Guevara, Jorge Luis Borges y Adolfo Bioy Casares, y San Martín y Bernardo de O’Higgins.
En la Argentina, son varias las celebridades del mundo del espectáculo que hacen culto entre sí de su amistad. Entre ellas: Gimena Accardi y la China Suárez, Agustina Cherri y Marcela Kloosterboer, Martina Gusmán y Florencia Raggi, Florencia Peña y Alejandro «Marley» Wiebe, Griselda Siciliani y Carla Peterson, Sebastián Wainraich y Julieta Pink, Luciano Castro y Gonzalo Heredia, y Dolores Fonzi y Julieta Cardinali.
Este año, el contexto en el marco de la pandemia de coronavirus presenta menos restricciones y más aperturas que en el 2020, con lo cual se facilita la interacción o el encuentro entre amigos respetando los límites para las reuniones según la situación epidemiológica de cada jurisdicción, ya sea al aire libre o en restaurantes y bares.
Por ejemplo, la Municipalidad de La Plata demarcó círculos en parques y plazas y prevé peatonalizar varias calles para garantizar el distanciamiento social y evitar la propagación de la coronavirus en el marco de las reuniones con motivo del Día del Amigo, a la vez que pidió evitar las reuniones en ambientes cerrados.
«Ante esta fecha tan simbólica hemos desplegado nuevos operativos en el espacio público para realizar tareas de prevención y concientización, con el objetivo de evitar contagios de coronavirus», afirmó el titular de la Secretaría de Espacios Públicos del municipio de La Plata, José Etchart.
Por su parte, los bares y restaurantes de la ciudad de Córdoba extenderán su horario de atención al público, ya que la Municipalidad local aceptó un pedido de empresarios del sector por la celebración del Día del Amigo.
De esta manera, los clientes podrán permanecer en los locales hasta la una de la madrugada, a diferencia del horario habitual que prevé el desalojo a partir de las 23, mientras que a las 2 los negocios deberán estar completamente desalojados y cerrados.
