Dos pacientes con coronavirus en Jujuy dieron a luz a dos bebés que arrojaron resultado negativo en el test de COVID-19.
Poco se habla de las mujeres embarazadas y el COVID-19. Si bien hay estudios que confirman la transmisión, no se conoce sobre los efectos del nuevo coronavirus en las mujeres gestantes y los fetos, sí se sabe bien que el embarazo pone una presión adicional sobre los sistemas respiratorio y cardiovascular y causa profundos trastornos al inmunológico. En la provincia de Jujuy hay dos casos de mujeres con coronavirus que dieron a luz la semana pasada y no se registró el contagio a los bebés.
El Dr. Marcelo Delgado, médico tocoginecólogo del hospital San Roque, cuenta que en Jujuy dos mujeres con COVID-19 positivo dieron a luz y afortunadamente los bebés arrojaron resultado negativo al virus. “Científicamente quedó demostrado en Francia que se da la transmisión vertical del coronavirus. Es poco frecuente pero es posible”, explicó Delgado. Asimismo, agregó que la transmisión depende de la cantidad de virus que tiene la madre.
“Lo importante es hacer el diagnóstico a tiempo y conocer si la paciente tiene coronavirus. Para eso hay que hisopar”, indicó Delgado y aclaró que en Jujuy hasta la semana pasada solo se realizó el test a 6 mujeres embarazas, de las cuales dos arrojaron resultados positivo a COVID-19.
Haciendo referencia a la atención, Delgado expresó que el tratamiento es el mismo pero que hay que tener un espacio preparado para pacientes embarazadas con coronavirus.
En cuanto a los estudios que se realizan en el mundo, Delgado señaló que en la provincia se debería estudiar si hay virus en la placenta y en la leche materna. “Los receptores de la placenta son muy parecidos al del pulmón por lo que pueden alojar el coronavirus”, especificó Delgado.
Para finalizar, Delgado hizo hincapié en que en Jujuy se debería testear a todas las embarazadas que están por entrar en trabajo de parto. “Esto es muy importante porque hay lugares en la provincia donde no hay médicos de guardia exclusivamente para hacer el trabajo de parto, entonces es fundamental que el partero se sienta seguro a la hora de hacer el parto y tener el conocimiento de que la paciente no tiene coronavirus”, indicó Delgado y resaltó que es una manera de cuidar a todo el personal de salud.
