La Casa de la Moneda buscará importar billetes de $1.000 para cubrir las necesidades de emisión de pesos que tendrá el Banco Central a lo largo del año. Se trata, según aseguraron fuentes oficiales, de una licitación para la importación de papeles de moneda desde Francia y Malta, que tendría un valor superior a los USD 32 millones.
De acuerdo a fuentes consultadas, se trata de dos licitaciones publicadas por Casa de Moneda para transportar billetes desde Europa y que responden “al cumplimiento de los compromisos y obligaciones que tiene esta entidad con el Banco Central de la República Argentina (BCRA)”, mencionaron.
En ambos pliegos rige la modalidad Orden de Compra Abierta, establecida en el artículo 17 del reglamento de Contrataciones de Casa de la Moneda. El llamado a licitación para la importación desde los dos países no implicará, aseguraron, que este obligada “a utilizar la totalidad máxima de los vuelos licitados”. Serían hasta ocho desde Malta y seis desde la capital francesa.
De acuerdo a información del portal Bloomberg Línea, se trataría de una compra total de 260 millones de billetes de $1.000, que estaría compuesto por 80 millones desde París y 180 millones más desde Malta. Los números no fueron confirmados por Casa de la Moneda por cuestiones de confidencialidad de la operación.
Según datos oficiales, hay actualmente en circulación casi 7.900 millones de unidades de billetes, algo menos de los 8.000 millones que había a principio de año. La caída en los primeros tres meses del año se explica en la salida del circulante de unos 150 millones de billetes de $100. Existen en la actualidad 3.100 millones de unidades de $1.000, con mucha diferencia.
