Emmanuel Lucenti viaja a Tokio para participar de los Juegos Olímpicos
La espera terminó y los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2021, que sufrieron la postergación de un año a causa de la pandemia de Covid-19, están a la vuelta de la esquina.
Se disputarán entre el 23 de julio y 8 de agosto en la capital de Japón, y acaparará las miradas del mundo entero. Especialmente de los tucumanos que nuevamente podrán vitorear al judoca Emmanuel Lucenti quien, por cuarta vez, participará de un Juego Olímpico.
El deportista, que dejó una huella indeleble en el deporte provincial y que cuenta con un diploma olímpico obtenido en Londres 2012, accedió en junio pasado a una plaza olímpica y estará en estos Juegos por su ubicación en el ranking mundial de la Federación Internacional de Judo (IJF).
Por este motivo, la secretaria General de la Gobernación, Silvia Pérez junto al secretario de Deportes, José “Cacho” Banegas, recibieron al deportista en Casa de Gobierno para manifestar el apoyo provincial en este nuevo desafío.
Vale recordar que en la Copa del Mundo que se llevó a cabo en Budapest, Hungría, el tucumano de 36 años intervino en la división hasta los 81 kilogramos. Venció en la primera lucha a Tareq Jamal. Tras la competencia, se posicionó 46 del ranking desu categoría y así alcanzó uno de los cupos para la cita internacional en Japón 2021, tras haber participado también en Beijing 2008, Londres 2012 y Río de Janeiro 2016. En Atenas 2004, fue suplente de su hermano Rodrigo, que también representó al país como atleta de la disciplina.
Tras la reunión, el tucumano campeón mundial 2009, expresó a la prensa: “Haber venido a Casa de Gobierno, días previos a partir a los Juegos Olímpicos, para compartir afectos con funcionarios de la provincia y con la dirigencia, es muy importante porque fueron un sostén a lo largo de esta clasificación tan difícil. Comenzó en el 2018 y, si no hubiera sido por el apoyo de la provincia, esto no hubiera sido posible”.
El atleta sostuvo que en esta nueva edición pudo encarar su preparación de otra manera: “voy más tranquilo y estoy contento. Me siento en mi plenitud física y emocional. El resultado también dependerá de los rivales con los que me enfrente pero creo que soy un judoca muy peligroso para cualquiera y, por eso, el respeto que me he ganado a lo largo de mi trayectoria”.
Una vida dedicada al deporte de alto rendimiento
Emmanuel es una especialista en la disciplina que le llevó más de dos décadas de esfuerzo: “tengo un diploma olímpico y quiero, como mínimo, buscar lo mismo y un poquito más. Una lucha más o una menos es una medalla. Hace 20 años que me levanto pensando en una medalla olímpica. El deporte tiene esas cosas. Me enseñó a aprender de las derrotas y a ser prudente con las victorias. Tomarlo con humildad para ser un mejor atleta”.
Sostuvo: “Soy un apasionado. Pienso seguir hasta las Olimpíadas de París 2024 y, ahí sí, terminar mi carrera. Estoy escribiendo un poquito la historia deportiva provincial. Es algo lindo para mí saber que el apellido Lucenti siempre tendrá su parte en el deporte tucumano”.
“La preparación que hice es lo que más contento me pone. De estos cinco años de clasificación cuatro años me prepare en Tucumán y uno en Santiago del Estero. Soy 100% norteño. Competí contra rivales que tuvieron mayor infraestructura y, sin embargo, pude ganarles. Me gusta dejar ese legado de la garra que tenemos los tucumanos” dijo, al tiempo que animó a los jóvenes a desarrollar deportes olímpicos para estimular la promoción de disciplinas que requieren gran compromiso.

El primer enfrentamiento se concretará el 26 de julio por la noche en Tucumán, que por diferencia horaria será en realidad el día 27 de Julio por la mañana de Japón.

Cacho Banegas declaró: “Nos vamos a acostar tarde para ponerle todo el corazón. Lleva cuatro juegos olímpicos. Es el Príncipe del Deporte. Los mejores deportistas del mundo se juntan en la villa olímpica y Emanuel es uno de ellos. Tenemos que celebrar y felicitarlo”. Banegas recordó que en Tokio también estarán presentes dos tucumanas: Mercedes Paz en tenis y Victoria Sauce en hockey integrante de Las Leonas.
“Como Gobierno de la Provincia, lo menos que podemos hacer, es estar cerca de estas personas que para nosotros son un orgullo. Seguramente pondrá todo para lograr un resultado, pero el camino que hizo hasta aquí es para admirar”, dijo el Secretario de Deportes.
Juegos en pandemia
Lucenti puntualizó que en Japón el Comité Olímpico y la autoridad sanitaria del país asiático serán minuciosos para cuidar la salud de los deportistas: “para viajar tuve que hacerme tres PCR. Estoy sano, estoy muy bien físicamente. Esperando. Con muchas ganas de viajar. Concentrarme y tratar de dar todo ese día”
“Los japoneses son muy estructurados y sistematizados, tenemos la obligación de bajar aplicaciones para cargar nuestros datos, tener activados el GPS y el Bluetooth para que, ante cualquier infección, ellos puedan detectarlas. La idea es que sean unos juegos sanos como todo el mundo espera”.
