El objetivo del grupo al publicar las fotos es de concientizar a los usuarios sobre el desecho de residuos y cómo está afectando a nuestros mares.
Podemos ver cubrebocas y guantes nadando entre bolsas de plástico, latas y otros elementos que conocemos son un peligro para las aguas del planeta. ?
“Nos quedamos sorprendidos para mal cuando vimos que había guantes enterrados en la arena”, dijo Joffrey Peltier, fundador de Opération Mer Proper.
Aceptó también que los residuos de cubrebocas y guantes son mínimos pero sin duda es una llamada de emergencia que podría ser fatal en caso de que no se haga nada.

Daniel Hidalgo, profesor de Ingeniería Ambiental de la UDLA asegura para primicias.ec que los guantes de látex tardan entre 100 y 200 años y los cubrebocas cerca de 50 y 100 años ya que están elaboradas con productos sintéticos.
La mayoría de los cubrebocas sueltan pelusas al empezar a descomponerse, que al viajar por los mares pueden ser confundidas con alimentos por algunos peces.
