Entrevista exclusiva con la actual campeona mundial supergallo de la Federación Internacional de Boxeo.
Es la máxima expresión del boxeo femenino argentino. Un historial con 49 victorias, solo 7 derrotas y 2 empates habla por sí solo. Deportes, familia y política se convirtieron en un cóctel que disfruta a cada segundo y en medio de unos mates, Marcela “Tigresa” Acuña vuelve a aflorar el sueño de estar otra vez en su amado ring.
Venís de pasar unos momentos difíciles, más el parate y la pandemia, que te frenó la actividad. ¿Se alimentó el deseo de colgar los guantes?
Un poco sí. La verdad que vengo de un parate bastante largo, después de la pelea con Jakie Navas, y pensé que iba a reactivarme este 2020 haciendo al menos una pelea y eso no fue así por el tema de la pandemia. Obviamente, una se pone a pensar un montón de cosas. Ya es mucho tiempo inactiva y tal vez no esté de la misma manera cuando me toque volver.
¿A qué le temés más, a la falta de preparación o a fallar ante tu gente en el ring?
Fallar en el ring. Yo no voy a hacer una pelea sin estar bien preparada y lo que tengo miedo en no llegar en condiciones, porque uno va perdiendo la distancia y muchas cosas más cuando estás inactiva. Lamentablemente, eso se va a notar. Por más bien que uno se vea en el gimnasio en una pelea es totalmente diferente.
¿El empate con Navas te dejó “con la sangre en el ojo”?
No, la verdad que no. Yo disfruté muchísimo esa pelea. Primero porque fui preparada mentalmente porque sabía que si no ganaba por nocaut iba a ser difícil que me la den, porque no solo iba de visitante, sino que estaba frente a una gran campeona y sabés que algo puede ocurrir. Pero lo que más me dejó tranquila es el aplauso del público y el reconocimiento de todos los mexicanos. Cuando bajé del ring, a diferencia de otras ocasiones cuando estaba muy molesta por los fallos, en esa pelea bajé con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja. Estaba muy tranquila. Lo hecho sobre ese ring mexicano fue muy diferente a otros lugares en donde hubo fallos polémicos.
La mejor y la peor pelea…
La mejor, tengo varias. Una con Navas, otra con Oliveras y con Yésica Marcos. Creo que he tenido buenas peleas de acuerdo a las rivales. Eran las mejores. La peor fue con Alicia Ashley, es ágil, es mi karma, la rival que nunca me dejó lucirme. Toca y se va. Nunca pude conectar tres golpes seguidos con ella. Hicimos tres peleas y nunca me quedé satisfecha.
Tenés un gran mánager…
Yo siempre digo que con Ramón logré superarme constantemente porque es igual que yo. Es un perfeccionista nato y constantemente está buscando la perfección. No nos conformamos con ganar un título. Lo hicimos en el 2003 y si hubiese sido conformista tal vez no hubiese logrado todo lo que logré años después.
¿Hablamos de equipo campeón?
Totalmente. Es más, mi familia es un equipo. Mis hijos están grandes, pero cuando eran chiquitos también nos acompañaban. Gracias a Dios, nunca me reclamaron la ausencia. Para nosotros fue muy difícil tener que dejarlos tantas horas para poder viajar e ir entrenar. Acá lo peor de todo fue que viajaban mamá y papá. Cuando fueron creciendo fueron mamando toda esa pasión que nosotros tenemos.
¿Qué otro deporte hubieses hecho?
No sé. Lo mío eran las patadas y piñas. No me veo haciendo vóley ni handball, por ejemplo.
¿Y como bailarina?
Menos, sufría mucho frente al deseo de mis padres. Hacía danzas españolas. Solo me gustaban los zapatos y los vestidos. Me llevé muy mal con el baile.
¿Y con el boxeo de tus hijos?
Siempre lo apoyamos. Constantemente decíamos que ellos debían elegir y nosotros los íbamos a seguir. No sirve de nada obligar a los chicos a hacer algo que vos no hiciste. Pensaba que si no lo hacían, mejor, así no tendría que estar sufriendo del otro lado del ring.
¿Ellos son “tigres” en el ring?
Sí, completamente, son tigres. Un poco más calmados y más fríos para boxear, pero son tigres. Eso los beneficia más.
¿Ves promesas a corto plazo?
Hay muchas promesas. Estoy poniendo todas las fichas al seleccionado amateur que va a las Olimpiadas. Necesitamos una medalla olímpica sí o sí, porque el boxeo argentino está muy alto y en muy buen nivel. En el mundo no hay tantas campeonas mundiales que hay en Argentina.
¿Qué te quedó pendiente?
En el boxeo, nada. Gané todos los títulos supergallos de todas las entidades.
¿Y la carrera de abogacía en Salta?
Quedó pendiente. Me está faltando ahora una tecnicatura en periodismo.
Ganaste el cinturón de los Próceres en 2018 en Salta…
Sí, era que me lo enviaban y aún no lo tengo. Me encantaría volver a buscarlo y hacer una pelea de despedida en Salta. Esa pelea fue espectacular. La gente me dio y demostró mucho cariño. Hemos sido muy respaldados y hoy nos apoyan siempre por medio de las redes sociales, con mensajes y todas las cosas bellas que te hacen recordar esa visita.
