Es un informe presentado como una «historia de reactivación en medio de la pandemia», y hace mención a una pequeña fábrica de tintas en Avellaneda que contrató a dos personas. 

La pandemia del coronavirus, pero sobre todo la cuarentena dispuesta para evitar su propagación y los contagios masivos, tuvo un impacto directo en el empleo en la Argentina. Según el último informe realizado por el Observatorio de Deuda Social de la UCA, publicado a principios de agosto, al menos 950.000 personas perdieron su trabajo en los últimos cuatro meses.

De acuerdo al estudio, un tercio de este grupo habría tenido como fuente de empleo un trabajo formal, sea de tipo asalariado o autónomo (300.000). Pero la mayoría de los desocupados COVID19, más de 650.000 trabajadores, habrían sido trabajadores informales.

En este contexto de dificultad económica, un informe de la TV Pública se convirtió en tendencia en las redes sociales –sobre todo luego de la mención del periodista Jorge Lanata en su programa de televisión– al presentar como “una historia en medio de la reactivación en medio de la pandemia” la contratación de dos personas durante el aislamiento por parte de una pequeña fábrica de tintas en la ciudad de Sarandí, en la localidad bonaerense de Avellaneda.

La respuesta de la gente no tardó en llegar. El ex vicepresidente del Banco Central durante la gestión de Mauricio Macri, Lucas Llach, realizó un comentario irónico. “TV Pública: es cierto que contrataron sólo dos personas más, pero eran 5, es un aumento de 40% en el empleo!”.

Otras reacciones fueron las siguientes: “No puedo creer esto, dos empleados, se burlan de la gente”; “seguro que había dos empresas que fabricaban tintas de sellos en el país, una con 50 empleados y otra con 5. La de 50 debe haber fundido y por eso a Ópalo le aumentó el trabajo”; “si no fuera triste sería gracioso”.

En base a información oficial del Indec, el Observatorio de la Deuda Social Argentina de la UCA estimó que a raíz de la crisis por la pandemia de Covid-19 la tasa de desempleo, de 10,4% en el primer trimestre del año, ascendió en el período abril-mayo-junio a valores cercanos al 15,5%.

Esto significa un aumento de 1.050.000 personas desocupadas más, ya que sobre un total de 19 millones de personas que integran la Población Económicamente Activa (PEA) nacional la cantidad que no tiene trabajo aumentó de 2.220.000 en el primer trimestre a 3.310.000 en el segundo.

Este cálculo, según el comunicado de la UCA, asume que la “tasa de actividad” (es decir la cantidad de personas que tienen o buscan trabajo) se mantiene en 47,2%. La mayor parte de los nuevos desocupados, unos 950.000, son trabajadores que perdieron su empleo debido a la crisis económica, aunque una parte de ellos habrían ingresado recientemente al mercado laboral.

Por otro lado, el Observatorio Social de la Universidad de La Matanza realizó una encuesta sobre el impacto del coronavirus y la cuarentena en la provincia de Buenos Aires. Allí, más de la mitad de la gente aseguró temer perder su trabajo y el 20% dijo que no llega a fin de mes con lo que gana.

De acuerdo con el sondeo, la otra preocupación de la población de la región metropolitana está vinculada con la inseguridad, que fue mencionada por el 48,7% de los encuestados, mientras que el temor a quedarse desocupado fue elegido por el 51% del segmento de personas activas y ocupadas.

Dentro de este bloque, el 31,5% siente mucha incertidumbre frente a la chance de perder su empleo, empresa o comercio y el 19,5% dijo que tiene “bastante” esa misma sensación.

El estudio también reveló que el 36,1% de los encuestados admitió que tuvo que achicar gastos en su situación económica personal o familiar.

Otro dato inquietante es que el 20,2% reconoció que no llega a fin de mes; el 16,9% admitió estar endeudado y tan solo 2 de cada diez afirmaron que el ingreso que tiene les alcanza para vivir.

Acerca de las expectativas sobre la economía personal y familiar, el 47,4% estima que dentro de un año estará peor, y apenas el 21,9% considera que su situación económica mejorará en 365 días.

Del relevamiento participaron 1.140 personas consultadas de forma online entre el 15 y el 17 de agosto, entre residentes del AMBA mayores de 16 años. Acerca de las medidas adoptadas por el Gobierno nacional para paliar los efectos de la pandemia y la nueva extensión de la cuarentena, el 49,1% las aprueba mientras que el 35,6% las desaprueba.
