El cómico estaba internado en el Sanatorio Otamendi por un cáncer de riñón. Tenía 68 años.
Luego de pasar un mes internado en el Sanatorio Otamendi, donde recibió un tratamiento paliativo contra el cáncer, el humorista Carlos Sánchez murió a los 68 años.
«Empezó con un cáncer de riñón hace diez años, lo trató, hizo quimioterapia, evolucionó bien, pero después hizo metástasis y llegó a tener un tumor en la cadera que no podía tratar por el lugar en el que estaba ubicado y le provoaba muchos dolores. Hace un mes volvieron a internarlo porque tenía mucho dolor y lo trataban con morfina», reveló la periodista Nancy Duré en «Los ángeles de la mañana».
Además, aseguró que el cómico estuvo consciente hasta sus últimos minutos y estaba al tanto de todo lo que se publicaba sobre su salud en los medios de comunicación. Sánchez hizo pública su enfermedad en «Incorrectas», el ciclo que conducía Moria Casán en América TV
