Las cifras constan en el informe regional diario sobre huevos del Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos (USDA) con datos del Medio Oeste, la región comprendida por distritos como Iowa, Michigan o Illinois.
Antes de la debacle de la gripe aviar la docena de huevos blancos grandes de grado A costaba entre u$s 0,70 y u$s 1,10 con un pico de 2 dólares en Semana Santa, pero el efecto del virus que ataca a las aves de corral impactó de lleno en los precios minoristas.
El aumento del valor de los huevos en Estados Unidos no fue sólo a raíz del encarecimiento de insumos y logística, que afectó la cadena de precios de todos los alimentos en ese país, sino también por la crisis sanitaria.
Pero en otros países, como México, sucedió algo similar en el caso de los huevos: para octubre de 2022 la gripe aviar había llegado a las aves de corral y la industria avícola se vio obligada a aumentar sus precios al consumidor.
En nuestro país el SENASA informó esta semana que se «confirmó la detección del virus de influenza aviar en aves silvestres, en la especie ganso andino, en la provincia de Jujuy”, según el secretario de Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca, Juan José Bahillo.

La Secretaría de Agricultura informó que se detectaron casos de gripe aviar en Jujuy, por primera vez en la historia.

La confirmación se dio luego de una notificación hecha por personal de Parques Nacionales de la provincia de Jujuy, según informó Bahillo en una conferencia de prensa brindada en la tarde de este miércoles.
“Estas especies de ganso andino fueron detectadas en la Laguna de Pozuelo, al norte de la provincia de Jujuy. Esto nos confirma la presencia de influencia aviar en nuestro país”, puntualizó.
La confirmación “obliga a declarar la emergencia sanitaria por influenza aviar en nuestro país” indicó Bahillo ante la prensa.
