Por la sequía, se perdería el 3% del PBI
Un informe de un economista de la Universidad Austral advierte sobre los peligros de la economía que viene.
El economista Alfredo Romano, director de la carrera Economía Empresarial de la Facultad de Ciencias Empresariales de la Universidad Austral y presidente de Romano Group, señaló que el país caerá un 3% del PBI como consecuencia de la sequía y que eso repercutirá en 30 puntos de inflación.
“Sobre el desplome de la actividad económica en el segundo semestre, vemos una caída del 3% PIB con inflación que, en este status quo y sin 25 mil millones de divisas que no ingresarán por la sequía, el programa económico debería cerrar con inflación del orden del 130%. Es importante remarcar que nuestra estimación de inflación de comienzo de año alcanzaba 106.7% para 2023 y una caída del PIB del orden del -0.5%”, afirmó.
“El 2024 será un año durísimo. Si hacemos paralelismos de la devaluación del 2016 podríamos llegar a inflación cercana a 200% en algún momento. Este análisis es tomando de referencia el pass through que se generó con la devaluación del tipo de cambio oficial en el 2016 durante la gestión de Macri, que recibe una inflación del orden del 30% y, a partir de la devaluación del oficial en el orden del 40%, la inflación cierra 42% en ese mismo año”, comparó.
“La herencia es muy pesada. Con la economía desmonetizada en términos reales hubo una caída del 30% durante la gestión de Alberto Fernández. Si sumamos que la deuda flotante en pesos y dólares se encuentra en niveles muy preocupantes, en el orden del 96% del PIB, sumado a precios de la energía cara, pero el atraso de tarifas continúa. A nivel monetario, hubo un crecimiento muy fuerte de la deuda remunerada que emite el Banco Central a valores de contado con liquidación. La economía se encuentra más frágil en términos monetarios que a comienzo de la gestión de Mauricio Macri, aumentando los riesgos de una nueva devaluación pronunciada de la moneda doméstica”, afirmó.
“Dólares financieros: A pesar que en términos históricos es un valor similar a 2005 muy competitivo, vemos posible volatilidad causada por la falta de divisas que generará la sequía y las elecciones de por medio. A esto se suma un escenario internacional muy complejo donde la FED tiene la difícil tarea de corregir la inflación y, por otro lado, evitar una recesión profunda. Este escenario limita a diferencia de la gestión de Macri, el acceso a liquidez en el corto plazo para la Argentina”, sostuvo.
“La sequía nos va a costar el 3% PIB y 30% puntos de inflación este año. El ajuste fiscal adicional es del 1% que se sentirá, sobre todo, en la segunda etapa de este año”, analizó.
“¿Habrá devaluación del oficial en los próximos meses? La sequía mete una presión extra a que pueda generarse entre mayo y el período post PASO. Asignamos cada vez más posibilidades a una devaluación del tipo de cambio oficial durante este margen de tiempo”, concluyó Romano.
