Rusia enviará a Argentina su medicamento para combatir el coronavirus

Según las autoridades sanitarias rusas, el medicamento, que se basa en el antiviral favipiravir, «demostró una alta eficiencia» durante la primera etapa de los ensayos clínicos.

Rusia suministrará el fármaco Avifavir diseñado para los pacientes que padecen el nuevo coronavirus a Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay, Honduras y El Salvador, anunció este lunes el Fondo de Inversión Directa de Rusia (RDIF).

El acuerdo sobre las ventas en siete países latinoamericanos fue firmado entre la compañía Kromis, perteneciente al RDIF y al grupo JimRar que creó el fármaco, y la compañía boliviana Sigma Corp S.R.L. el 29 de julio. El documento prevé el suministro de un mínimo de 150.000 unidades de Avifavir, y el socio boliviano recibirá la tecnología de la elaboración del medicamento.

El 29 de mayo, el Avifavir recibió un certificado de registro del Ministerio de Salud de Rusia y se convirtió en el primer medicamento contra el SARS-CoV-2 en el mundo que contiene el ingrediente activo favipiravir.

Según las autoridades sanitarias rusas, el medicamento, que se basa en el antiviral favipiravir, «demostró una alta eficiencia» durante la primera etapa de los ensayos clínicos. En los primeros cuatro días de tratamiento, el 65 % de los 40 pacientes que tomaron Avifavir dieron negativo al covid-19 y para el décimo día, el porcentaje de pacientes que dieron negativo aumentó al 90 %.
