Selección no irá a Santiago del Estero, jugará en la Bombonera
Luego de que la Conmebol realizara en los últimos días una inspección en el Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades, de Santiago del Estero, que quedó formalmente aprobado para albergar partidos oficiales de Selecciones, un error de comunicación entre AFA, Conmebol y FIFA hizo anunciar erróneamente que el flamante estadio santiagueño sería la sede de la próxima presentación de la Selección Argentina en las Eliminatorias, cuando reciba a Paraguay, el jueves 12 de noviembre y a las 21. Más allá de tener el estadio de Santiago habilitado, el elenco de Lionel Scaloni mantendrá La Bombonera como sede.
En el sitio oficial de la FIFA publicaron el cronograma de las fechas 3 y 4, que se jugarán entre el 12 y el 17 de noviembre, donde dieron por sentado que el encuentro entre Argentina y Paraguay se iba a jugar en Santiago del Estero, a raíz de la habilitación realizada en esta semana.
Sin embargo, en la Asociación del Fútbol Argentino siempre se mantuvieron con que el partido se jugaría en la cancha de Boca. Y así será finalmente.
