Siguen las protestas en Formosa

Amnistia Internacional recibió en los últimos ocho meses decenas de denuncias de personas afectadas por restricciones al acceso a la provincia de Formosa, detenciones compulsivas en centros de aislamiento y, desde el viernes pasado, represión contra manifestantes, informó en un comunicado.

Amnistía Internacional pidió hoy la creación de una mesa de diálogo que incluya al Gobierno nacional, al de Formosa y representantes de la sociedad civil «a efectos de lograr acuerdos sobre las medidas que se adopten en el marco pandemia, asegurándose que sean razonables y respetuosas de los derechos humanos».

La organización recibió en los últimos ocho meses decenas de denuncias de personas afectadas por restricciones al acceso a la provincia de Formosa, detenciones compulsivas en centros de aislamiento y, desde el viernes pasado, represión contra manifestantes, informó en un comunicado.

«Desde el año pasado, la organización realizó pedidos de información a las autoridades provinciales y nacionales, mantuvo reuniones con representantes del Gobierno nacional y denunció la situación ante organismos internacionales de derechos humanos.

Luego de recabar nuevos testimonios, insistimos en que el respeto a los derechos humanos es esencial para garantizar la legitimidad y el cumplimiento de las medidas contra la pandemia», sostuvo la directora ejecutiva de Amnistía Internacional Argentina, Mariela Belski.

«Tal como hemos señalado en diversas oportunidades, el uso de la fuerza deber ser excepcional y utilizado como último recurso, y debe cumplir las obligaciones internacionales de respetar y proteger el derecho a la vida, a la integridad física, a la dignidad y a la seguridad de las personas», sostuvo Amnistía sobre los incidentes sucedidos la semana pasada en la ciudad de Formosa durante una protesta de comerciantes que se oponen al regreso a fase 1 de la cuarentena.
