La ciudad tucumana de Tafí del Valle, enclavada a más de 2.000 metros sobre el nivel del mar, albergará un Centro de Desarrollo y Entrenamiento Deportivo en altura, cuya obra comenzará a finales de año, según se acordó en una reunión entre el Ministerio de Turismo y Deportes y el Gobierno provincial.
El complejo proyectado en los Valles Calchaquíes será uno de los seis levantados en altitud a nivel mundial y demandará una inversión de 4.442.000 de dólares, parte del Programa Federal de Infraestructura Deportiva con financiamiento del Fonplata-Banco de Desarrollo.
Durante el mes próximo, se presentará el plan ejecutivo para iniciar la licitación de la obra que contempla un natatorio, una pista de atletismo más una pista de remo y canotaje.
«Es una noticia de altísimo impacto para el deporte local, nacional y continental, porque será el centro de entrenamiento en altura más importante de la región. Esto potenciará a Tafí del Valle como polo turístico, ya que llegarán deportistas de todo el continente para entrenarse», destacó el ministro de Turismo y Deportes, Matías Lammens.
El funcionario del Gabinete Nacional hizo el anuncio después de reunirse con la ministra de Gobierno y Justicia de Tucumán, Carolina Vargas Aignasse y el presidente del Ente Tucumán Turismo, Sebastián Giobellina.
