Una llamativa propuesta en Nueva Jersey.
El gobernador de Nueva Jersey, Phil Murphy, anunció el programa y explicó que ofrece un vaso de cerveza gratis a cualquier persona mayor de 21 años que reciba su primera dosis de la vacuna este mes.
El programa denominado «Shot and Beer» consiste en una tarjeta de vacunación que además será el boleto para una cerveza gratis en diferentes bares del estado.

El plan es parte del intento de Murphy por aumentar la cifras de vacunación del estado y alcanzar su meta de 4,7 millones de residentes inmunizados a finales de junio.
«Necesitamos ese impulso. Tenemos que encontrar la forma de motivar a la gente y esta es una forma de hacerlo», confió a la cadena ABC News el doctor Perry N. Halkitis, decano de la Escuela de Salud Pública de Rutgers.
Hasta el lunes se habían administrado en Nueva Jersey más de 7,5 millones de dosis, de las cuales 3,2 millones fueron para residentes.
Esto implica que aproximadamente el 37% de la población total del estado ha sido completamente vacunada, según el Departamento de Salud local.

El estado también está adoptando otras medidas para aumentar el número de vacunas, incluidas campañas puerta a puerta, llamadas telefónicas a personas que se preinscribieron para recibir la misma, pero que no asistieron a sus citas y contactos con socios comunitarios.
