El billete de 2.000 pesos comenzaría a circular antes de lo previsto
Se espera que la distribución a los bancos comience antes de lo que estaba estipulado. Además, la Casa de la Moneda buscará importar billetes de 1.000 pesos para cubrir las necesidades de emisión de pesos del Banco Central.
Los primeros billetes del nuevo denominado de 2.000 pesos argentinos comenzaron a ser enviados por el Banco Central a las redes de cajeros automáticos en las últimas horas, para que puedan realizar las tareas de adaptación y procesamiento de los mismos.
Según fuentes oficiales, el comienzo de la distribución a los bancos podría adelantarse a los últimos días de mayo, en lugar de junio como estaba previsto originalmente.
El billete de 2.000 pesos lleva como imagen de homenaje a Cecilia Grierson, considerada la primera médica argentina, y en el otro lado una imagen de la fachada del Instituto Malbrán. El diseño ya existía previamente, por lo que el Gobierno decidió utilizarlo para acortar los tiempos de lanzamiento del nuevo billete.
La producción de los nuevos billetes se realizó íntegramente en el país, aunque una parte de la misma fue contratada a la Casa de la Moneda de Brasil, China y España. Los primeros billetes importados llegarán a la Argentina en septiembre, en un proceso que se dará en continuado hasta abril del año próximo.
La puesta en circulación del billete de 2.000 pesos implica un cambio en la carga logística que afrontan empresas que manejan grandes volúmenes de efectivo, como supermercados y bancos.
Actualmente, hay casi 7.900 millones de unidades de billetes en circulación en Argentina, con una caída en los primeros tres meses del año explicada por la salida de circulante de unos 150 millones de billetes de 100 pesos. El billete de 1.000 pesos es el que tiene mayor circulación, con 3.100 millones de unidades, seguido por el de 100 pesos, con casi 1.900 millones.
