Impulsado por el Legislador Raúl Albarracín, se desarrolló el 1° Desafío Pueblo Viejo. La competencia de mountain bike se llevó a cabo este domingo con la participación de destacados ciclistas locales y de provincias vecinas.
«La competencia colmó todas nuestras expectativas, con casi 200 ciclistas en carrera que explotaron todo su potencial en un recorrido que unió el Parque de la Joven Argentina, en Concepción, y Pueblo Viejo, paraje de la Comuna de Capitán Cáceres en el Departamento Monteros, pasando por el Rio Gastona y las localidades de Finca Cornet, La Aguada, Cochamolle y Sargento Moya.
Esta primera edicion nos deja una gran satisfacción por el éxito que tuvo. Un evento deportivo que fusiona deporte, turismo y medio ambiente como aliados estratégicos, y que nos impulsa a seguir generando instancias para la práctica deportiva y la promoción de los atractivos turísticos que tenemos en el interior tucumano»,
ponderó el legislador Raúl Albarracín.
A su turno, Matías Menchini celebró el desarrollo de la competencia, asegurando que: «Se trata de un circuito nuevo para muchos competidores, quienes finalizaron muy contentos con la organización de este desafío. Esto nos incentiva a continuar trabajando para fomentar el deporte, cómo escuela de valores y de encuentro».

El desafío se extendió a través de 38 km con el imponente marco que brinda el entorno natural del pedemonte tucumano, atrevasando parajes y pueblos del interior tucumano. Tuvo su punto de largada en la ciudad de Concepción y finalizó en Pueblo Viejo, en el Departamento Monteros, con un desnivel positivo 1400 m.
