La Real Academia Española le puso un freno al lenguaje inclusivo
Publicó un manual en el que juzga “innecesario” el uso de la “e” en vez de la “o” para incluir a hombres y mujeres en los plurales. “No hay que confundir gramática con machismo”, sentenció.
La opinión que la Academia tiene sobre el lenguaje inclusivo se incluyó en su manual de estilo porque ese volumen, editado junto a Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española (ASALE), pretende funcionar como guía ante interrogantes idiomáticos que han surgido en los últimos años y que, en casos como el del lenguaje inclusivo, han llegado a despertar alguna polémica.
Este rechazo, que se suma a varias expresiones contrarias al lenguaje inclusivo que ya tuvieron lugar entre autoridades de la RAE, llega algunas semanas antes de que la Academia deba expedirse con un informe sobre la posible modificación del texto de la Constitución española que encargó la vicepresidenta de Gobierno de ese país con el objetivo de que esa Carta Magna reflejara mayor paridad entre hombres y mujeres.
«El problema es confundir la gramática con el machismo«, dijo Darío Villanueva, director de la RAE, ante esa solicitud: es la postura que la Academia vuelve a tomar en su manual de estilo y que, adelantaron desde la institución, muy probablemente tomará al elaborar su informe sobre la Constitución.
A pesar de la posición institucional, el lenguaje inclusivo ha ganado espacio en distintos ámbitos. En Latinoamérica, la cadena televisiva Fox Premium estrenó en octubre la serie «Pose», pionera en tener subtítulos con lenguaje inclusivo, tanto en castellano como en portugués. «Les chiques» se lee, por ejemplo, en las letritas blancas que acompañan los diálogos de sus personajes.
También en octubre, una campaña gráfica de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires usó la «x» en sus carteles: «Todxs tenemos derecho a información, educación y atención gratuita de nuestra salud sexual», decía uno de ellos. En ese entonces, Guadalupe Tagliaferri, ministra de Desarrollo Humano y Hábitat, sostuvo: «Tal vez la Real Academia Española se enoje un poco, y alguno tal vez nos acuse de que estamos destruyendo el idioma, en este contexto nos parece muy importante porque estamos hablándoles a los jóvenes».
Es que, aunque de forma incipiente, el lenguaje inclusivo empieza a expandirse en Argentina, especialmente entre adolescentes que lo usan en su habla cotidiana, tanto oral como escrita. Un ejemplo de esto que cobró notoriedad fueron las palabras de Natalia Mira, integrante del Centro de Estudiantes del Carlos Pellegrini, que en junio de este año, dos días antes de que la Cámara Baja votara a favor de la legalización del aborto, instó a «les diputades indecises» a pronunciarse positivamente en ese debate legislativo.
El manual de estilo que acaba de editar la RAE, del que se imprimió una primera tirada de 10.000 ejemplares y que en España se vende a 24,90 euros, no sólo se dedica a rechazar el lenguaje inclusivo. También se refiere a dudas que surgen de una vida cotidiana cada vez más asociada a la tecnología: para eso, el libro incluye un glosario con términos como «tuit», «yutubero» o «guasap». Y hace recomendaciones tales como escribir «pirata informático» en vez de «hacker». O, en todo caso, apelar a la castellanización y tipear «jáquer». Algo parecido ocurre con el dispositivo de almacenamiento «pen drive»: la RAE invita a escribir «memoria USB» o «lápiz de memoria». Son expresiones que, al menos en Argentina, resultan muy ajenas al habla cotidiana. Pero como en el caso del lenguaje inclusivo, la RAE se aferra a sus convicciones
